UPPER CIRCULAR ROAD, SINGAPORE
The design uses alternating light and darkness to define the 3 spaces that form the wine and whiskey bar located on the ground floor of a shophouse.
Main entry is through the retail space with a sparse and raw look. Dim lighting and darker tones contrast this space with the next space: the wine cellar which is completely finished in gloss white and stronger lighting for a more futuristic clinical aesthetic. A sliding door reveals the wine and whiskey bar, the spatial atmosphere returning to a more intimate mood to compliment the setting within. The solid timber bar counter exudes warmth to balance the dark grey granite floor and pebble-wash walls.
